Ausschreibung: QueerScope-Kurzfilmförderung

QueerScope – Association of Independent Queer Film Festivals in Germany e.V. supports filmmakers in the production of queer-themed short films within the framework of the QueerScope Short Film Support Fund.

Funding is available for innovative queer short film projects with a screening length of up to 30 minutes that are intended and suitable for public screening in cinemas or at film festivals. Short films with a serial character, video installations, short films with an advertising character (image films), or immersive formats are not eligible for funding.

Film projects that contain anti-constitutional or unlawful content, have a pornographic or violence-glorifying focus or obviously offend religious feelings profoundly and inappropriately are excluded from funding.

Funding is awarded as a grant. Applications are open to filmmakers residing in Germany.

The application must include the following documents:

  • Cover letter with contact details, requested funding amount (up to a maximum of €2,500), and motivation/justification for the queer-themed project (1 page).
  • Brief description of the content, description of the characters/protagonists (up to 3 pages)
  • Kalkulation (1 Seite, ein Eigenanteil von 5% der Fördersumme muss einkalkuliert werden)
  • Short biography/filmography (1 page)

Applications must be submitted electronically (as PDF files) and in German.

Funding can be applied for in the following areas:

  • script development
  • production
  • post-production

The projects will be submitted to a jury from the queer German film and cinema circuit.

Each filmmaker can only submit one project at a time.

Funding amounts and modalities will be determined on a project-by-project basis.
